There are several events throughout the month of August to help residents learn more about what they can do in their neighborhoods to combat crime and drug activity.  It all starts on August 3 at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center with a Kick off event and Safety Fair.  The event will include a K-9 demonstration, a UHP helicopter, McGruff the Crime Dog and several other notable participants.  On August 4th 30 West Valley City Neighborhoods plan to participate in the National Night out Against Crime.  There will be street parties, petting zoos, carnivals, spaghetti and potluck dinners throughout the city.  The City Council, Police and Fire departments plan on attending as many events as possible.
